We specifically wanted to try some North African food while visiting Nice. The man who greeted and served us was friendly and happy to give recommendations. We ended up ordering the pastilla, couscous with vegetables, and couscous with a mix of meats (royale). He gladly changed the presentation of the food so it was more shareable. The pastilla was delicious! It was a flakey, crispy moist, and light pastry (phyllo?) filled with spices and chicken. It was both savory and slightly sweet which is a flavor combination that totally worked. The couscous with vegetables is a good option if you want something lighter and healthier. The "royale" included 4 types of meat which were all tasty. The lamb was slow cooked until fall of the bone tender. The merguez sausage was nicely spiced with a hint of star anise? The kafta meatball was also very flavorful with a punch of fresh coriander. The chicken was also very tender. Definitely check this place out if you want to change things up from the usual French cuisine. This restaurant and its food also reflects the huge community of North Africans in Nice!

Slow and irregular service, but very tasty food. Different menus in French and English, but the waitstaff will probably direct you to something you'll like. Watch out, the special that includes a pastilla and a couscous is *a lot* of food!
